Various sports in Romania enjoy recognition and encouragement from the Royal Family, such as rugby, oina, football, karate. In 2018, on June 9, the friendly match Royal Serbia - Royal Romania took place in Belgrade, on the occasion of the ninetieth anniversary of the first international match of the Kingdom of Romania, played in Belgrade with the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes, in 1922.

The events are of several types, including: commemorations, conferences, symposia, concerts, workshops. The Royal Family participates in events such as: jubilees, anniversaries, diplomatic events, solemn occasions in Parliament, official visits, official weddings.

Every year, at Elisabeta Palace or, on the occasion of special commemorations, as it was in 2016, at Peles Castle, the Royal Family is greeted at the Garden Party on the afternoon of May 10.
